Synopsis
Thomas J Gage is a remarkable gentleman, a deep thinker and a prolific writer. He writes from his own standpoint as a committed Christian. Thomas Joseph Gage was born in Plymouth, Montserrat but emigrated to Britain in 1957.
‘When Satan Fell’, is a book which is well written, easily understandable and bound to have a profound effect on all who read it. Thomas demonstrates insight and a tremendous ability in making such an application to this story of antiquity in a rather sophisticated way. The story is presented in the form of a thriller in which Satan’s plots are dramatically revealed. No longer is he pictured as the red-faced demon snarling down but as the Satan who is exceedingly subtle with a tactical analysis which almost flawless.
All the chapters are portrayed vividly in this complex situation in which the very core of the human heart is filled with pride, greed, lust and mistrust until the players are temporarily cut off from the love and goodness of God.
It would be easy to join in the blame game and condemn Adam and Eve as we follow their journey in and out of the Garden of Eden but we are all dealing with the serpents and apples and temptations every day of our lives. This book should provoke us into thinking that there is also a garden in each our lives and the challenge is for us to identify our own individual apple. It is power, wealth, fame, fortune or pleasure? Do we share in faults of our first parents and the debilitating effects of that impediment?
The book reminds us that we are no longer incapacitated, no longer in duel with Satan, and without a weapon. Christ has restored the balance and when He shows His hands, not only does Satan fall but it is an invitation for us to feel free to walk hand in hand with him, free to enjoy the blessings of this paradise and free to enter the Kingdom of God.
