Synopsis

With the background of Washington State’s Olympic Peninsula and particularly the Hood Canal area, this historical adventure traces the life of a young man, Chuck Harmon, wrongly accused of murder in 1936. Much of the story is revealed in a diary found in a remote cabin of the Olympic Mountain wilderness in 2008. The modern-day protagonists who find the diary, make it their purpose to solve the murder and right the previous wrong. The diary is written by a young girl, Laura Mae, who escapes with Harmon. The couple are continuously pursued by men hired by the family of the murder victim and only survive with help from Harmon’s boyhood friends and Harmon’s mother a member of the local Skokomish Indian Tribe. For years the couple live in a rustic cabin near Murhut Falls. It is there, in 2008, Laura Mae’s diary is accidently found and the tale begins.
