Lina Soares is a Professor in the College of Education’s Department of Middle Grades and Secondary Education at Georgia Southern University. Dr. Soares received her Ph.D. in Curriculum Instruction from the University of North Carolina – Charlotte in 2009. Dr. Soares has published over 40 research and practitioner-oriented articles and conducted numerous research presentations from international to national and state settings, focusing on the development of teacher leaders, effective instruction for graduate online programs, and effective pedagogical practices for literacy teachers. She is the co-author of Questions from the Classroom, Association of Middle Level Education, and co-editor of Enhancing the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in Online Learning Environments, IGI Global.

Regina Rahimi is a professor in the Department of Middle Grades and Secondary Education at Georgia Southern University, Armstrong Campus. Dr. Rahimi received her Ed.D. in Curriculum Studies in 2002 from Georgia Southern University. Her current research interests involve issues related to teacher retention, models of clinical practice in teacher education, and trauma-informed practice. She is a co-editor of Enhancing the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in Online Learning Environments, IGI Global, and co-editor of Exploring Social Emotional Learning in Diverse Academic Settings, IGI Global.

Juliann Sergi McBrayer , Ed.D. is an Associate Professor and Co-Director of the National Youth Advocacy and Resilience Research Center at Georgia Southern University. She also serves as the Program Director for the Educational Leadership master’s and educational specialist programs. She received her Ed.D. in Educational Administration in 2013 from Georgia Southern University. As a scholarly practitioner, her research interests include the development, implementation, and assessment of educational leadership preparation programs with a focus on purposeful, collaborative, and sustainable professional learning programming to ensure effectiveness and accountability, specifically in the areas of community and school safety, mental health and well-being, and restorative justice.
