Synopsis

Shifts in the global landscape prompt questions about power and validity. Traditional structures of governance are challenged by emerging actors, transnational movements, and evolving norms that reshape how influence is exercised and perceived. Understanding authority requires examining informal networks, public trust, and claims to legitimacy. Exploring these dynamics may further reveal how global politics are redefined in an era marked by complexity and change. Rethinking Authority and Legitimacy in Global Politics explores the urgent questions surrounding authority and legitimacy in the 21st century. It examines the shifting landscape of political governance as non-state actors shape global and local outcomes. This book covers topics such as climate governance, international relations, and regionalism, and is a useful resource for politicians, government officials, policymakers, business owners, academicians, researchers, and scientists.
