The metaverse is rapidly evolving into a persistent, interoperable constellation of immersive worlds underpinned by XR, real-time 3D engines, digital twins, edge/5G/6G, Web3 economies, and cross-platform identity systems. AI is central to this shift while simultaneously expanding the attack surface through identity spoofing, deepfakes, smart contract exploits, biometric leakage, and adversarial threats. As these environments scale, ensuring trust, security, and ethical governance becomes increasingly critical to their long-term viability. This convergence of immersive technologies and intelligent systems demands new frameworks to safeguard users while enabling innovation across interconnected digital ecosystems. Designing Trustworthy Immersive Systems at the Convergence of Metaverse, AI, and Cybersecurity advances a cohesive research agenda at the intersection of metaverse engineering, AI capabilities, and cybersecurity assurance. Bringing together perspectives from security, AI, human-computer interaction, networking, cryptography, policy, and digital economics, this book charts the technical, ethical, and governance foundations required to design trustworthy, scalable immersive systems for education, healthcare, industry, and smart cities. Covering tops such as sovereignty in immersive environments, synchronized digital identities, and immersive multi-user metaverses, this book is a critical academic resource for graduate and doctoral students, security architects, engineers, data scientists, policymakers, and more.
