Clown Zero is a horror comedy by fantasy novelist and comic book author Ryan Foley. It is a surreal adventure about a paramilitary team hunting nightmarish clown congresses hiding amongst humanity. It is self-described as a “strange amalgam of ‘90s action, supernatural staples, zombie clichés, vampire tropes, and endless pop culture references” spawned from “a COVID-induced madness caused by those long stretches in isolation.” Too silly to be scary but too serious to be outright ridiculous, Clown Zero is a stylized shoot-‘em-up adventure filled with fast-paced action, witty dialogue, a supernatural harlequinade, and scenarios that will leave most laughing… and have coulrophobes looking for either a dumpster or a safe to lock the book away in.
