Synopsis

Groin hernia is a very common surgical condition . It's a common saying that its bread and butter for General Surgeons. Traditionally open surgery mesh or without mesh were the options.With laparoscopic era patients are offered TEP repair where expertise and trained surgeons are available and patients are given the choice of this approach called Total Extra -Peritoneal approach. My work is part of patient education series as per my previous titles on amazon like Magssed/ Magtrace and Bowel endometriosis and its management.
In TEP surgery inflatable balloon is used to create space above the peritoneum which is the inner lining of abdominal cavity to perform the procedure and repair the hernia .
Mesh can be slipped easily for inguinal, femoral hernia. My contents is useful for general audience and colleagues who are new to technique.
This book is dedicated to my deceased dad ( A K Sabri) who himself underwent open groin hernia surgery and he was passionate lover of BBQ marination and using charcoal grill. I have one of his pictures in my preface.
