At last Heather begins her life as an independent young woman.

Set against the backdrop of the 1980s Minneapolis gay bar scene, work at a Chinese restaurant, and student life at a music school, Heather recklessly reenters society as she pursues her musical dreams and love-this time for real.

J.J. Maze is an author, singer, composer, and educator in Chicago. She was a runaway and high school dropout at age fifteen. After surviving some harrowing experiences on the streets, she toured internationally as a singer/songwriter for over a decade, then earned her GED and went back to college as a performance major, receiving her MM in classical vocal performance from Northwestern University. Ms. Maze is a highly sought-after vocal coach and remains an active part of the Chicago music scene. In her downtime, she likes nothing more than laughing with good friends and walking her two dogs, Bella and Lenny.
