Synopsis

Christmas is a time for stories. Over the years I have written one to mark the season and sent it to a group of friends.
I have now collected them into one volume so they may be read by anyone at any time.
The stories roam across centuries, peer into mysteries, and wander through a run-down shopping mall, pit yard, fermtoun and cosy front rooms. We meet kings and councillors, monks and Salvation Army Bandsmen, and share the season with children, village folk, and a man who sells mattresses. We rejoice with those that rejoice and warm to those brave souls that find in Christmas a comfort for their suffering..
Almost all are based on real places, people and events. All I have done is to fashion stories from them.
