Character: The immortal, eternal fact of who we are as individuals.

God’s first priority is our eternal selves. He always takes the long view. Therefore, our temporal circumstances are merely the fuel for the fire that purifies our faith and develops us for eternity. In other words, our character is His focus regarding all His working for us, in us, and through us.

Does this mean that He does not care about our physical and emotional needs? Of course not! But in meeting those needs He works in ways that help us to grow in our understanding of, and our trust in, Him.

It is the Lord’s desire to so fill us with Himself that our character and His character become indistinguishable. He is constantly working to shape us into oneness with Himself.

That is why I believe that this compilation is so needed and beneficial for every believer. The perspective Dr. Miller provides gives us a deeper understanding as to the eternal continuance of what God begins and develops here during this temporal, mortal existence.
