Synopsis

When a rather drunk Ben Holland stumbles across two men fighting what should be an impossible battle, as lightning bolts shoot across a dark Soho street and one of the men nearly dies, it leads to Ben being turned in to a magician himself. There is a catch however as the British government are aware of the existence of magic and it looks like they wish to wipe it out, but for the first year Ben has the time of his life, at least until he doesn't and it all goes horrifyingly wrong.

In-between this he discovers how to transform in to dogs to get free food, has to track down a potentially evil long presumed dead film director, discovers what life is like when trying to be a superhero who definitely doesn't have anything in common with Batman whatsoever at all, and finds out that Adolf Hitler is still alive, though he has spent the last eighty odd years as a sentient toilet which is used by a very famous bottom.

That's just the tip of the iceberg in this very funny, very dark and very twisted novel, and if you're fond of unpredictable and slightly crazy books this will definitely be your cup of tea / coffee / insert choice of non-flammable liquid here.
