Kneeland, a former Eugene, Oregon, middle and high school teacher who kept a journal of his journey, writes about teaching during the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s. Blow-up bras, bowling balls in the hallway—little was off limits for a group of mostly young teacher who found ways to have fun and inspire children, one of whom lived out his dream to be an astronaut.
