The Storymaster (Games Master) facilitates collaborative storytelling, while rolls can influence the outcome; other factors, such as the story's context, character abilities, and player decisions, are all considered to lead the quest onward and determine the path of the Tale.

The stories all take place in the Realm of Threatlore, with recurring characters and locations that players will grow to know and care for, much like a beloved book or TV series.
