When Iris tries to pump the woman for information on who this mysterious patient could be, all the woman will tell her is that she believes Iris holds the key to the patient’s journey toward recovery.

Given Iris’s current emotional state of mind after the destruction of her career, she’s not inclined to grant this patient’s wish, but for reasons even she herself can’t explain, Iris agrees to pay this patient a visit. When she shows up at the facility the following day, the patient turns out to be the last person she ever expected to see.

What follows is a beautifully written story about love, loss, hope, redemption, and the indelible and unbreakable bonds that tie us together as we travel through this journey we call life.
