Synopsis

The story takes the reader on a bizzare and humorous journey into the life of Peru who moves from a ‘normal’ teenager to a self-assured and friendly neighbourhood weed peddler. His eventual descent into paranoia and isolation is followed by a surprising turn of events. Armed with impressive reasoning and harsh wit, Peru gives us an insight into his ‘peddling’ business, which he unabashedly speaks of in a tone that is usually reserved for legitimate enterprises. His perspective of life, loyalty, moral values, addiction, religion — amongst other things, stay with us long after the book ends.
