Synopsis

Over the last few years the world has experienced a series of events, both national and global, that have shaken our security and hope for the future. These poems come out of those experiences and look at issues such as grief, confusion, disappointment and despair. They are intended to be encouraging, reflective, meditative, spiritual and hopeful. Whether the reader has faith or no faith, I hope these poems will be uplifting.
It is said that the darkest moments come just before dawn. Just as the sunrise brings light to our circumstances, so hope comes with every new day. The mountains are not as big as you imagined them to be! When I turn to Jesus and ask Him into each situation I find myself in, my experience is that I do find peace amongst the turmoil. There are answers and a guiding voice.
The struggles within these poems are taken from personal experience, or from sharing the pain of family and friends in their challenges. Not everything has changed for the better; we’ve not had all the outcomes I’ve wished for. But it is as I have looked at what we have gone through over recent times that I have found there really is hope, not simply wishing things were different. More than ever before, we need to turn to God, the Sovereign Lord, who is our protector and guide. We need to have faith in Jesus Christ, who is alive and active in our lives. I believe that when we trust him, we find hope.
