It is a Buddhist tradition to make ‘real life’ sculptures of revered monks and put them on display at temples. This is akin to any sculptures around the world of famous people. To honour and remember people who changed the world. Lifelike like the waxworks in London, Madame Tussauds. I am no expert on religions, but I like to acknowledge the good things people do for others. Most of the monks in this book are famous. I don’t know if they revelled in their fame, or not. I do know though, that life is like a giant seesaw. Swinging back and forth, one side with good deeds and the other bad ones. I love the good deeds and the millions of people who do them. And I feel sad and hopeless about all the bad ones. Whether we get a statue erected of us for our good deeds is unlikely. But, what is important is that we do the good deeds and feel the natural happiness and peace that comes when we do them. The magical way we can all get peace on Earth.
