Synopsis

This is the story of a mad young fool on a spiritual search, who hit reality hard, and was changed. It is a fact based mildly satirical look at the Sixties and Seventies hippie culture and its influence on a vulnerable and already deeply damaged young person. Not without comedy, it is about his spontaneously born and unplanned journey to India. It gives vivid descriptions of the rigours suffered by many similar travellers who were part of that adventurous troop heading east. The writer has a colourful, clear style that manages to avoid cliches while encapsulating truths. This book is also an insightful look at the origins of ways of thinking that were at one time only adhered to by misfits, mavericks and freaks, but have now become integral parts of modern mainstream thinking. No apology is made for the fact that he ultimately came to see Christianity as the source of his solution.
