It is a journey of seeking and forming a Weltanschauung, a facing down of one’s mortality, while preoccupied with the realities of war and navigating the stress of facing down and coming to terms with the imminent demise of a husband in palliative care. In the writing process, the poems become sustaining prayers for peace, guidance, expressions of humbling gratitude, and parting blessings for the reader.

À propos de l?auteur

Ruth Rifka is a painter/writer whose paintings have exhibited in the United States and Canada. Her poetry and short stories have been showcased on CBC Anthology and published in magazines like Fiddlehead, Tamarack, Branching Out, Room of One's Own, Descant, and Contemporary Verse 2, as well as in various international anthologies. Painting the Eye in a Butterfly's Wing, her first collection of poems, was published in 2023.
