Synopsis

In Spain today, Fray Luis de León is esteemed every bit as highly as his “Golden Age” contemporary, St. John of the Cross, yet no complete edition of Fray Luis’s poems translated into English verse has appeared until now. Ensouled Region, Shining captures the intense reverence of poems that are backed by deep theological learning but charged with simple wonderment. These poems are the timeless testaments of a spiritual visionary.
