Synopsis

This book is a collection of best practices and guidelines (in my humble opinion) on how to manage projects. The Book does not replace formal project management training, but provides the reader with a number of situations you are likely to encounter whilst delivering projects and guidelines on how to handle those situations

As the introduction states "This book is for all those unsalted PMs who having done the formal training, find themselves in the thick of managing a project, with all the complexities of the customer, your boss, and all other stakeholders to deal with….and you feel like you are in a stampede"

Being a successful Project Manager is not about following PM methodologies, nor is it delivering to your project’s targets of price, time, etc. To be a successful Project Manager you need to be that person that people are happy to approach to, to have a chat, to help manage and resolve issues, motivate and drive your team and most importantly take ownership for the successful delivery of your project – You need to be a “People Person”
