An Anthology of vivid and elegiac remembrance of the Korean War as recalled by eight senior citizens who, as eight young children in 1950-1953, witnessed the tragedy and destruction of the so-called “Forgotten War.”
The Korean War has been forgotten, but it should not be. One American citizen registered his complaint on the Washington Post’s opinion page about the newspaper’s silence on the 70th anniversary of the war (Charles McGovern, Free for All page, July 19, 2020). Thankfully, Washington Post columnist George Will posted a touching story (Thanksgiving 2020) about a Korean War veteran who survived the massive Chinese attacks of the Chosin Reservoir.
This book is dedicated to the memories of the Korean War. History should be remembered. If not, human civilization cannot be progresses.
