Synopsis

Following his heart meant losing his family- was that a choice he could make?

While growing up in Utah, Steve and his sister were introduced to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints through friends who seemed to have something special in their lives, something he wanted too. After three missionary lessons, Steve’s investigation of the Church was brought to a screeching halt by his father, who would not allow him to step away from his family’s tradition of Catholicism. Steve was forbidden even to talk about the Church while his father was around. Over the next four years, his father did everything in his power to discourage Steve’s pursuit of this new religion. When Steve reached the age of eighteen, he had to make a decision. He could either ignore the feelings in his heart by breaking all ties to the Church or be disowned by his father and cut off from his family for doing what he felt was right.

“Did Not My Heart Burn?” is the touching true story of Steve Estoque’s conversion to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and how that choice changed his life forever.
