Sebastian Briggs and Christopher Shaw had been in a long tread of investigating a chilling sequence of events; the assassinations of three FBI agents and their families, an aeroplane carrying seven members of the UK's GCHQ being hacked and crashed into the vast expanse of the ocean, and the systems of both the US CIA and the UK SIS MI5 and MI6 being breached by a mysterious and powerful hacker. These occurrences were tied to a shadowy terrorist cell that no one could figure out yet.
Briggs and Christopher's investigation led them to Thomas, a former SIS agent's basement, where they gathered files about what this terrorist cell could be. However, while digging out this case, Briggs needed to spend time with the woman he loved. So because of security reasons, they had a small dinner date in his house, but this was no shield against the dark forces Briggs was trying to hunt down. During his date, two men raided his house and sprayed the whole place with bullets. Though Briggs and Racheal managed to make it out alive. Briggs went after the men and ambushed them while they were trying to escape. He caught them and spotted a tattoo in their hands that he couldn't reconcile with.
Briggs knew where next to go, and it was at Tony's. Tony was the city's most notorious weapon dealer. And Briggs could tell the weapons to the assassins, but he and the FBI and their family got their weapons from him. He got to Tony's place, but Tony was nowhere to be found; they found Bretty, his alleged ex-girlfriend, who promised them she could lead them to him and Durango. A man she claimed ordered the weapons from Tony.
Briggs didn't trust Bretty though Christopher did, so he dismissed her help. Alexander Q, who gave Briggs and Christopher the mission, called Briggs to inform them to attend the funeral of the fallen FBI agent and their family. Things seemed to be in order when they got to the funeral until Christopher realised Durango's men had infiltrated the ceremony and set a bomb in a little girl's flower. The bomb exploded, setting everything into chaos and bullets flew around, and people ran for their lives. Durango's men mainly targeted Briggs and Christopher, but they managed to escape, though Briggs got wounded.
In the hospital, Bretty gave Briggs her offer to catch Durango, which Briggs agreed to this time though Racheal was not pleased with this as the chase had put a strain on their relationship. Briggs, Bretty and Christopher along with some of Alexander Q's men went on to ambush Durango before he set off to America with a deadly weapon to kill people there. But as they got there, they soon found out where the one being ambushed as Durango had known they were coming.
Briggs faced Durango face to face, but Durango told him he was not acting alone. Instead he was following the orders of a long-lost friend of Briggs. Briggs was confused until Durango gave Briggs a wristwatch belonging to Theo. A long-lost friend of Briggs who Briggs believed to have died in a plane crash. Briggs managed to escape Durango before Durango could kill him. But this mission came with its consequence. Because most of Alexander Q'd men lost their life in this fruitless mission Q was angry with Briggs for leading them into it and fired Briggs from the case, putting Christopher in charge.
Briggs, who had always wanted to retire to be with Racheal, though saddened by Q's decision, decided to spend the rest of the day with Racheal as they reconciled.
