This notebook is 8.5”x11” and features 100 pages with a dot grid rather than the typical ruled lines.
This journal is great for kids who have a hard time opening up about how they feel. When they find speaking with an adult about their big feelings too difficult, they can self-regulate their emotions by following the guided questions in this mindfulness journal.
This journal asks questions which allow your child to address their own big feelings in a thoughtful, healthy, and very personal way. Each entry leads your kiddo through a series of prompts that guide your little journaler through the process of dealing with the emotions that they’re struggling with.
The more your child likes their journal, the more they will meaningfully connect with and use it. That’s why I’ve prepared many designs in this series to suit the tastes and styles of any kid, so that anyone can find one of my journals that they enjoy and identify with.
While any kiddo will benefit from practicing mindfulness and emotional regulation, this journal might be especially helpful for:
Autistic kids
Children with ADHD
Kiddos with transient or tumultuous home lives
Children who have experienced upheaval or traumatic events
Adults and teens who could also use some help learning emotional self-regulation (I’m being completely serious here, so please don’t give this journal to someone as a joke. That could be very hurtful and demeaning.)
There will never be gendered language in these journals, so you can let your little one use this journal to work through their feelings without worrying about accidental dysphoria triggers or insensitive and obscure gender designations.
Please note: You should never read your child’s journal without their permission! If they let you read their journal entries, they are demonstrating an immense amount of trust that you will be understanding and help them resolve the experience. However, if you read their journal without permission; you will alienate their self-identity, disprove their trust in you, and destroy what could have been a beautiful safe space for you child. Please, remember to respect your child no matter how curious you are about their private thoughts and feelings.
