Synopsis

Poetry Collection written from author's late teenage years to late 20s.

The poems range from one line in length to several pages. They represent ideas the author had from reading the classics, growing up in the Austin, Texas suburbs, discussing Dante’s Inferno with his Grandmother, to living in Europe for a masters degree, to studying law, to inside jokes of people living on the coast in California.

The author's inspirations come from standing on the shoulders of T.S. Elliot, Alfred Lord Tennyson to Joss Whedon’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer, criticisms of Richard Wagner, The Goon Show, Dr. Who, the foothills of Virginia, the architecture and museums of Washington, D.C., 2015 editions of The New Yorker, Harry Potter, J.R.R. Tolkien's writings, and Greek folk music.

The manuscript for the most part relates the exact times that the author wrote or sent the poem via email. The styles and mismatched fonts are intentional. The timing is intentional from 2020 to the early 2010s of poems when the author wrote them. Almost every poem has a date and many poems have the exact time of completion. This is in part due to the author's record keeping in my personal journal entries that I have been keeping in part of the better part of a decade.

Per the author's biography, the author writes on topics from cross-border taxation issues to Constitutional interpretation to J.R.R. Tolkien’s Silmarillion and everything in between. The author graduated from high school in Austin, Texas in 2010. The author received his bachelor’s in Cambridge, Massachusetts in May 2013; went to law school in Texas for a J.D. that he received in 2016; received a masters from the University of Amsterdam in 2017 as well as a second masters from Boston University that he finished in 2018. Charlie is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of Groningen in The Netherlands.
