His account was meticulously footnoted by his partner, Jebediah Young, and by Sam himself, decades after the fact. The resulting narrative covers both his search for the Great White Buffalo and his heroic effort to write a novel comprised entirely of telegrams. The subsequent toad-licking is a bonus.
