Synopsis

The birth of the Universe and the source of life on earth was an enigma to the people of the Vedic period and beyond. Contrary to the spontaneous explosion and cooling of the big bang theory for creation, Vedic literature proposes that the birth of the Universe was a developmental process from nothingness. The sages in Rigveda have contemplated how the creation and propagation of life began in the universe by the primordial creator Virat Purusha. This book explores the mystery of creation of the Universe with ancient Indian literary and archaeological evidence.
