Synopsis

Historian Hetru Pekri has a problem. His life's work is to truthfully record the history of the civilisation of Atlantis. His challenges begin after witnessing a killing when he is told to write a fictitious record of the event by a Councillor.

With an expanding family, he is loath to disobey authority and be truthful to himself for fear of losing his position.

In escaping the destruction of Atlantis he and his firstsborn son are separated from his family.

Can Hetru overcone the vanity of a Councillor gone bad? Can he escape marauding enemies and preserve the cherished historic records?

The records of the past are in his hands for the future of the Atlantis civilisation.

As this story weaves in and out of the trilogy featuring Givas Voret it adds more depth to the background of Atlantis and can be read as a standalone story in itself or a prequel to Atlantis: The Order of the Librarians
