Our culture is solution-focussed and we long for answers. The journey appears less important than the destination. Yet, as followers of Jesus, our relationship with Him is one of companionship, not knowledge.

As we walk with Jesus, we talk with Him and learn His heart for the world and for us. The collective experience of such journeying is church. A desire to know Him better can replace our obsession with answering every question.

The Bible is neither rule book nor history, but points to Jesus. We read the Scriptures to move us closer to their author, not for answers. Then, through God’s grace, we discover that relationship is more important than solutions.

For my wife Paige and myself, our experience of leading a long-term discipleship school taught us a great deal about God and about us. This book springs from reworking our curriculum and adding extra material.
