Synopsis

I was first introduced to poetry when I was a second grader at Brown Elementary School in Peabody, Massachusetts. My teacher brought in a professional poet, Sydney Goldfarb, to talk to us about poetry. He shared with us some haiku and gave us a homework assignment to write our own haiku poems. After much work, my poems were complete. When Mr. Goldfarb returned, he pulled me aside to speak with me after his presentation and told me poetry was in my future.

This is my fourth collection of poetry and is exclusively poems in the style of haiku and senryu. I took some poetic license by using capitalization and rhyme, not normally a part of haiku and senryu. The themes of the poems run the gambit of nature, wisdom, introspection, and social themes.
