Synopsis

In this third outing in the, Thomas Cole: Who done it, series, thirteen-year-old Wally Wentworth, IV, hires Detective Cole to investigate what he believes to have been the murder of his father by his new stepfather in order to inherit the family fortune. Along the way he and the detective encounter several more murders and a half-dozen or so attempts. The convoluted evidence gradually takes shape. In the end, the bad guy suddenly takes charge of everything including the two of them as they find themselves at the brink of death, deep inside a place of no apparent no return.
Each chapter ends with a cliffhanger promising more danger and excitement just ahead. Written with both adults and young adults in mind.
