Synopsis

Ovid is a staple in many Latin programs because of his timeless themes, beautiful poetry, and fun content. One of the difficulties students face when reading him, however, is the vocabulary. This book contains the Latin text of six of the most popular myths from the Metamorphoses: Daedalus and Icarus, Pygmalion, Daphne and Apollo, Pyramus and Thisbe, Baucis and Philemon, and Orpheus and Eurydice. It also includes the Ariadne letter from the Heroides and selections from Books I and III of the Ars Amatoria. It is in large font and double-spaced so students can annotate the text. Next to the text is a line-by-line vocabulary list of the words students are most likely not to know.
