Synopsis

Mental health conditions are often called "invisible illnesses" because you can’t always see the symptoms. In Haley Ward’s debut poetry book, silent storms, she gives voice to that invisibility. Her painfully honest poetry collection exposes the uncharted depths of mental illness and the real-life impacts it has on various relationships (e.g., friends, family, significant others). The collection is organized into three chapters:

1. storms exposes the tumultuous reality of living with mental illnesses like depression and anxiety.
2. ships dives into the turbulent sea of relationships and the struggle to find safety and love within them.
3. saltwater explores the non-linear, ongoing process of healing, growth, and self-discovery.

As you read, may you find a poem that sees you.
