Synopsis

This book, The Autobiography of Dr Mel was written for several reasons. Not knowing many events of his ancestor’s lives, Dr. Rosh decided to document some of his life’s events for his children, grandchildren and forthcoming progeny. Hopefully readers will be inspired to write their own life stories so that future generations will have some idea about whom they were.

Dr. Mel is a product of the Great Depression of the thirties, an observer of the Second World War, a defender of his country during the Viet Nam Conflict and a loving husband and father. He attended Hamilton College, and subsequently completed his medical training at the Weill Cornell University Medical School.

Postgraduate education involved three years of Pediatric Residency at the New York Hospital, where he was Chief Resident. He went on to subspecialize in Pediatric Allergy, opened a practice in New York City, was drafted into the United States Army, and after discharge, opened a practice. Throughout his medical career, he taught medical students, residents and nurses and held positions of Attending Clinical Professor and Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics. He was elected to the Specialty Boards of Pediatrics and Allergy. Upon retiring, he volunteered his services in the Allergy Clinic at a city municipal hospital for an additional five years.

Dr. Rosh is the author of medical and lay articles and the recipient of medical awards. He feels his greatest accomplishment in his lifetime is that he fathered three wonderful children and has six terrific grandchildren; all of whom he is very proud.
