A nostalgic walk down memory lane with the true adventures of a young boy, his friends and family growing up in the West Wales Coutryside. The Second World War had ended just a few years before the author was born and although poor, the freedoms and friendships make for a rich life. Days spent playing, foraging, on the farm, on the beach, along quiet country lanes and in small wooded valleys for hours on end. We get to meet a family where mam is devoted to creating a caring loving home and dad supplements his income with his entrepreneurial skills. In an area where surnames are rarely used the book is full of local characters like Ianto Gof, Dan Trip, Brynley Wenvoe, Jimmy Rhiwgoi, John Sychpant, Islwyn Eagle, Dai Penybryn and Jones Llandudoch. There are colourful descriptions of school days, the Church, holidays, Christmas, Guy Faulks night as well as opportunities to find out about the local towns, villages and beaches. The book is based on the author's memories and stories from his chidhood friends and family.
