Synopsis

A chance meeting on a July morning in 1966 plants the seed of an idea in Danny Ford’s head for this year’s summer holiday destination. The plan was to drive to Spain camping with his three mates. After all, they’d been camping locally before, what could possibly go wrong?The planning for their objective with all its unforeseen pitfalls subsequently begins. The preparation then follows. Each obstacle is overcome and after an eventful journey they finally arrive. They begin their return home with misplaced confidence that it will be plain sailing; this was not to be the case. Almost two days after disembarking the ferry at Dover, they all trudged into Danny’s kitchen exhausted and more than ready for sausage sandwiches provided by Danny’s mother. The question is then asked, ‘Where should we go next year?’
