In the era of the internet, sources of information abound. This book tries to help the cause of clarity by providing some practical (as well as unconventional) keys to understanding today’s geopolitics. Indeed, some ‘minor tweaks’ in our often self-indulgent behaviour can go a long way towards the attainment of many critical goals. In our own small way, we are all geopolitical players. What will it take us, then, to stop caving in to human vanity? Why should the public pay for our individual, nutritional proclivities? What makes a pedestrian a key geopolitical pawn? What will it take us to realize that reducing urban air pollution must be treated as a short- (rather than a long) term goal? Will the European Union (now 27 years old) ever leave its parental home (ie, the veto power of its member states) and start a life of its own? Did the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic need to be so bad? These are just a few questions this book will try to answer. Hopefully, along the way, our thoughts will become a little longer.
