Synopsis

Katie Jones had always liked horses, dogs, and men. In that order. Until, that is, Dan de Loubens had come along while she was working as a groom in France in her twenties and changed everything. But time moves on, people change, life happens. Can the perfect couple stay perfect for ever? Now approaching forty and just as prone to awkward social mishaps as ever, Katie finds her world unexpectedly turned upside down. When fate leads her to Seville and she crosses paths with an old flame, in the shape of smouldering Spaniard Diego, Katie finds herself re-living a teenage romance, and amidst the jasmine-scented streets of Seville her life starts to change in the most unexpected way. As she dances her way clumsily from one encounter to the next, soon she must confront her own past choices in order to make the right decisions for her future. Set under the vast skies of southern Spain and amid the rolling hills of Warwickshire, An English Girl in Spain is a funny and heart-warming tale of love, loss and Latin libido with a linguistic twist, that gallops along to the sound of salsa music and cicadas; the perfect holiday escape that can be read individually or as a follow-up to Katie and Dan’s first instalment, An English Girl Abroad.
