Synopsis

A Drama Podcast ScreenplayAs the seventies dawn, and Mancunians start to dream in colour, the city’s underworld continues to flourish. Life is good. All is calm. Peace has broken out in the rainy city. Except in the world of George Best. A death threat from back home has sent George on the run. Rumour of IRA assassins in Manchester are rife. Arriving from London also, an old foe, coming North under the guise of helping to hunt down the gunmen. But, as ever, all is not what it seems, Loyalties and lies, old friendships and new formed to fight an invisible foe. The sixth in the Quality series unravels. The wonderful Irish poet Brendan Behan once said ‘‘There is no such thing as bad publicity, except your own obituary.’’ Never was this more true than in A Bullet for George.
