Synopsis

Old Bob (Poetry Collection)

A collection of poems from the perspective of Old Bob, an English chicken farmer, inspired by members of the poet's own family. Semi-autobiographical in nature, these works stem from John Tatum's profound love of England, its countryside and its people. Old Bob recounts snippets of time and a life on the brink of being erased by the overwhelming march of progress.

Additional poems are included in this collection, which add to the picture of Bob's world.

Some poems previously featured in Lookout, West Sussex Gazette, The Argus, Reach and On The Downs and other illustrated Poems (also John Tatum)

Book contents

Old Bob I thru X (Bob’s Day Out), Additional Poems: Emergency Exit Only, The Hazel Coppice, On The South Downs

Quotes and reviews

“I feel and know that these poems equal, or even surpass, your other works, with unity of beauty and power, nature and reality. I have read them many times. I imagined the true judges looking from their home above and saying, "This man is with us - a Georgian!”
