Synopsis

Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Rūmī, also known as Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Balkhī, and more popularly simply as Rumi, a thirteenth-century Persian poet whose works has helped the spiritual journeys of lots of people, in the likes of other celebrities like Tilda Swinton, Madonna —some of whom similarly incorporated his work into theirs. He is typically referred to as a mystic, a saint, a Sufi, an enlightened man. Curiously, however, although he was a lifelong scholar of the Koran and Islam, he is less frequently described as a Muslim.
