Alfie Roberts is a twelve year old paperboy who lives in the village of Limborne. When his father died, two years ago, Alfie lost his confidence, his smile and any chance of having any friends, let alone a girlfriend. Recently, it has become clear to him that if he wants to win the heart of his classmate, Gemma, he's going to need them all back. One night, he realises that the only way to regain them is through his amazing artistic ability. To add to Alfie’s troubles, he’s started to have recurring nightmares about a not very helpful giant spider and his ideas for dealing with it may not be the best. Luckily, his sister, Emma, is around to help, but in the end, he’ll have to do it all for himself. Laugh and cry as you follow Alfie on his original and intriguing journey of self-discovery and find out why it’s best not to argue with yourself.
