Mark Hookway began coaching and team managing at Tonbridge Athletic Club in 2002. Starting with a small group of young distance runners, in the under 13 age group, teams progressed from winning medals at county championships. Success at Regional and National championships followed and by the time London was announced, in 2005, as hosts for the Olympics, Tonbridge athletes were winning National Championship gold medals. This book follows the progress of the club and the distance runners, through to 2012, highlighting the events as they happened. The highs and lows created a rollercoaster of experiences, as the teams had success at under 15 and under 17 level, with dreams of challenging the very best in the country at senior level.
