Have you ever wondered why some people in the bible such as Abraham, David, Solomon were very rich and had very prosperous lives while most believers barely get by? Are God’s blessings for only some or only a group of people, the perfect ones, or are they for all his children? Why does the bible, in 2 Corinthians 8: 9, says, “though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty he could make you rich”? And, in 3 John 2: 2, it says, “I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers”. So, it appears that God wants all his children to prosper and be in good health. There are so many questions we could ask as we try to find out why most Christians are poor, when, in fact, we should be the most prosperous people on earth. We should be the employers, the lenders, the builders, the leaders. But what is going on? Is it God’s fault or is it because we don’t know who we are?
