The way things are is a bit of an oddball, and I must admit it’s not for everyone. It’s not typical self-help, guided meditation, close your eyes, calm down, and love yourself kind of a book. It’s more of an attempt to develop an understanding of the root cause of stress and how to deal with the cause rather than the symptoms. We all have first-hand experience of stress and the misery it causes. Although, dealing with the symptoms gives us relief but it’s always temporary and doesn’t address the real issue. The way things are is an attempt to change something deep inside us to keep stress in check at the very source. It tells us that stress is an inherent part of us and has a very important role to play in our life. Fighting stress is fighting with oneself. The real cause of stress and anxiety is sitting deep at the core of us and unless we deal with the cause, symptoms will keep coming back.
