Gangs and violence….drugs and addiction….loyalty and friendship. Born into a life of struggle and deprivation, with sectarianism and gangland culture a common thing, Fe grows up in a harsh, poverty stricken Scottish environment. A talented young football player, Fe has the chance to free himself from this world when the offer of a professional contract comes in. However, with everything going on in his own life, he must decide if moving on and leaving those he loves behind would be the best decision. This gritty, hard hitting fictional novel, set from the sixties and moving into the nineties will follow the struggles of Fe as he takes on the responsibilities and expectations of becoming a man. Intermingled with humour, the story tracks Fe’s journey as he faces internal and external conflict within the context of his environment, walking a tightrope amid a lifetime of crime and choosing the right path. Fe is drawn into a world of drug dealing, gangland rule and mindless violence between skinhead and biker gangs. Fe finds one of his own men mercilessly slaughtered, and his own life hangs in the balance after he is savagely beaten by the vicious, ruthless Sean, the President of a powerful, criminally established and infamous biker gang. Fe is forced into submission by Sean and his men, who threaten to kill his family and friends. As he struggles to keep his life from spiralling further out of control, Fe finds himself living in the very depths of hell and has to find the strength to fight for survival in order to protect those around him. Love, friendship and loyalties are put to the test, with alliances being formed from unlikely sources. Differences are set aside as opposing factions come together in order to protect their families and the local community against an even bigger, potentially unbeatable threat with devastating consequences. Will Fe be the hero or the villain?
