Synopsis

Simon Platt had just gotten out of the Marine Corps and was hitchhiking to his aunt's house when he witnessed a body being thrown into the Red River one night. The victim, an elderly, retired school teacher, had been reported missing earlier that day by her young niece. The case is never solved and goes cold. Simon becomes a policeman at the Magnolia Police Department and the case haunts him. Five years later, Simon and Trinity Taylor, the victim's niece, become friends and together they start trying to piece together the clues. Clues which lead to a suspicious suicide and a missing baby. When another body turns up, they know they must be getting close to solving the puzzle.
