Synopsis

The killer who took the life of Michael Owen, renowned paleontologist and curator in a museum in Oklahoma City, left no clue. Police had no leads. Curators in the same museum, Jane Parker and Sloan Tomkins, had the same background and professional training and a powerful physical attraction. This attraction frightened scientific minded Jane, who only believed what she could see and analyze. Jane begins a relationship with calm, non-threatening Patrick Murphy, a homicide detective working the Owen murder case and sincerely tries to fall in love with him. Jane’s assistant, Pamela Perry, was beaten by her son, Blaine, a drug addict. Jane stands firm beside Pamela as they help Blaine to recovery. Myron Higgins, the illegitimate half-brother of Michael Owen, nurses his hatred of Michael’s education, his wealth and his position of respect and acclaim. Myron lives a life of destitution in the Southside slums of Chicago. When the Last Will and Testament of Michael Owen is read, Myron’s life changes dramatically. A four-man Homicide Division team, headed by Patrick Murphy, spend two weeks of extensive investigating in Chicago and return home to Oklahoma City with Michael’s murderer in handcuffs. Jane and Sloan finally recognize the true loves of their lives.
