Chris Duoba is a local barber from North Manchester who is probably better known in his community for his appearance than he is for his incredible achievements. People tend to cross the road or take a wide birth of Chris as they passed him on the streets of Manchester. As he reaches his 60th birthday in September 2020, he reflects on a life that came close to being ended at 19 years old in a car crash that left him seconds from death. His resulting injuries were described by the surgeons, who pieced him back together, as 'life limiting' and he was advised that it would be unlikely that he would be able to hold down a job again. This is a story of tragedy, human endeavour and determination. It is also a story of great sacrifice that unfortunately comes at an eventual cost. This book offers an insight into the journey of a boy that would rather be physically punished than do PE at school, to a teenager who is then told that his injuries would prevent him from achieving anything physically or mentally in life, to eventually competing in his 40s and 50s in the world famous 'Ironman' events and GB ultra races against ex-forces competitors and supreme athletes almost half his age.Ultimately it's the story of a man with the determination to defy the odds. You will laugh, you will cry, you will be shocked and you may even be offended but you will not be able to ignore the achievements of a human being who refuses to limit his ambition and 110% believes that anything is possible. This is the story of Chris Duoba
